Intro

In December 2019, Logi travelled to Bournemouth to visit a friend, and there he met Patty. Quickly becoming good friends, Logi and Patty spent much of the early days of lockdown shooting eachother off of cliffs and setting eachother on fire (thankfully no hospital trips required, they were playing Magicka).
Fast forward a few months, Logi and Patty were spending as much time as possible wandering around forests, being silly and falling in love.
After their mid-forest handfasting ceremony in 2023, they decided to make it official and plan their wedding.

Schedule

We chose this venue because it is a especial place for us, but also because it allows our guests to go for a wander if they want to enjoy nature on their own for a bit. Believe us, the views are worth your time! We may also do a little treasure hunt for the most adventurous.

and see how we have our first dance together as a married couple.

Dance like crazy into the night 19:30-11:00

Come dance with us, and don't worry, we also don't know how to do it, just move in random directions trying to follow the rythm of the music. We will have a live celtic band for a good part of the evening, and also some surprise acts! Probably the most fun part of the entire day!
The party ends (unfortunately at around 11PM, where we will have to ask people to go home as we need to be out of the venue by 12PM.

Fire-jam at the beach 11:30 onwards

If the weather allows and there is still energy, we will go to a nearby beach for a fire-jam (for non fire-nerds, this is an event where people come and display their abilities spinning fire). Please bring your favourite fire or LED props along to make it an unforgettable night!

Dress code

Hobbit / Lord of the rings / Fantasy attire
Our wedding will have a Hobbit / LOTR / Fantasy theme, and we would love for you to get involved too to create a unique, fairytale-like atmosphere. Want to be a hobbit or an elf for a day? A powerful wizard? A greedy dragon? A mighty warrior? Maybe a flower fairy? Please, go ahead, we would love to see it!

If you are not too sure of what this means or what to wear, feel free to ask us for inspiration. You will most likely already have things at home you can use and, if not, charity shops are a great place to look for them, or even better, you can get crafty!

Nothing is too crazy or too silly for us, as long as you are comfortable and have a good time. The only thing we would say is, feel free to leave your fancy dress, boring ties and heels at home!

Food

What about second breakfast?

This won't be your usual wedding in terms of food either, so please read carefully!

We will be putting some sharers and snacks for all tastes, but the star dish will be yours to choose!

If you are able, please bring something you have made yourself to share with everyone, extra points if it's a typical dish from your country or area, or a secret recipe. Super extra bonus points if the food is in theme (i.e. Some food seen in the books/movies, some fantasy-related dish...)
Ideally, each person should bring food for at least one person, ideally two as we may all get hungry for dinner. The more variety we can get, the better, so don't hesitate to ask us if a dish has been chosen already.

We love food, we love variety, we love sharing, and the meals we have enjoyed the most have been the ones made with love by our loved ones. We know it requires a bit of extra effort, but trust us, it's going to be amazing :)

Note: We will provide tags for the dish names and any extra information (vegan/vegetarian/contains nuts).

Hobbit banquet

A picture is worth a thousand words!

Help us capture the moment, tag your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #LogiAndPatty

How do I get there?

It's way easier than you think!

It is relatively straight-forward to get there from Bournemouth, about an hour drive.
If you don't own a car, you can get there by public transport from Bournemouth in about 2 hours by taking a train to Weymouth and then a bus that will leave you near the gardens.
If you do have a car with free spaces and don't mind sharing, please let us know so that we can arrange it with other people 😊

Our story

Logi and Patricia met in a cold December night, at the house of a common friend in Bournemouth. Patricia didn't think anything special of the meeting, but Logi felt instantly drawn to her. He was living in London at the time, so meeting-up wasn't as straight forward.
Logi and Patty met each other
Over the following months, they exchanged a few messages and almost went to see a band together in Saint Valentine's day, but Patricia opted for going on a date with her best girl-friend instead.

Some more time passed, and lockdown hit. Solitude and too much free time brought the two of them closer together. Nights of long videocalls, talking about nothing and everything and, most importantly, nights of playing videogames in which they would throw each other off cliffs and have a good laugh. There are no words to explain how much this helped both of them through such hard times.

Once lockdown was over, Logi decided to pay Patty a visit in Bournemouth, and they went to their first date to the New Forest, where they walked amongst trees, laid down on the moss and Patricia got pooped over by a slow worm (after having been wisely warned by Logi that that might happen). That weekend of June, the two of them realised they were made for each other, and decided to start dating.

On Christmas 2020, Patricia made a handfasting chord for Logi and asked him if we would like to get handfasted. Handfasting is an ancient celtic tradition involving a ritual binding of the couple as symbol of their commitment to each other for one year, after which time the couple would decide to get married or end their time together. Needless to say, Logi answered yes.

Many dates, adventures, parties and walks in the forest later, the couple decided to move in together to their own flat, where Patricia created a hobbit mural to decorate the living room. They bought a couple of old reading chairs where they spend their mid-week evenings.

A while after moving together, the opportunity arose to increase the family. A kitty had been abandoned at Logi's brother's vet practice, and the couple decided to take her home. Although there was a point where she got really sick and almost lost her life, with hard work and a lot of love, Logi and Patty managed to get her back to health. Now she spends her days getting pets, having naps and playing like crazy.

After some more time, one day, Logi appeared with a huge slate of wood wrapped in plastic. Patricia decided that she wasn't even going to ask about it. But to her surprise, it turned out to be an astonishing piece of pyrography Patricia had fell in love with the year before at a festival, and jokingly said that if he ever wanted to marry her, to do it with something like that instead of a ring. She really didn't expect him to actually do it! Now, the artwork is proudly displayed at their home as the most gorgeous engagement headboard ever.

Patty and Logi get engaged

On the 3rd of June 2023, the couple decided to organise a handfasting ceremony and picnic in the forest with the company of a few very close friends. Something as simple as that became one of their favourite days ever.

Music, books, animals, potatoes, nature, nerdiness, humour, open and honest communication, personal growth, respect for freedom and independence and immense love for each other have been constants and pillars in their relationship. Logi and Patricia know that life can be difficult, but that with each other's support, everything is easier and more fun.
